KIPPRA hosted Mr Thibault Meilland, a Policy Advisor for Monitoring and Analyzing Food and Agricultural Policies (MAFAP). Mr Meilland was received by KIPPRA Executive Director Dr Rose Ngugi and Director, Directorate of Integrated Development Dr Moses Muthinja.
The MAFAP programme is a leading policy support initiative at Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) that works with countries in Africa to strategically prioritize, reform and implement policies on food and agriculture.
The programme also monitors and analyses public budgets, trade and market policies with the aim of guiding governments to repurpose their agricultural support for the transformation of agrifood systems. Discussions at the meeting centred on areas of collaboration between KIPPRA and MAFAP in implementing phase three of MAFAP. The meeting was also attended by FAO’s National Focal Person, Ms Anne Chele and KIPPRA Senior Policy Analyst Mr Joshua Laichena.
