Macroeconomic Modelling and Forecasting

The Institute provides training in macroeconomic modelling to mainly Economists in various Central Planning Units of the Government. This involves use of the KIPPRA-Treasury Macro Model (KTMM) in policy analysis, simulation, and forecasting. The course is very popular especially with economists in government ministries. The Institute has also been involved in developing capacity of not only Kenyan government officers but also officers from Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and Malawi in order to assist these governments in building macro models of their economies.
