Validation Workshop on Kenya Economic Report 2024

KIPPRA held a validation workshop on Kenya Economic Report 2024 on 28th February 2024 in Nairobi. The validation workshop aimed to gather stakeholder views and insight on the Kenya Economic Report 2024 which is themed Enhancing Productivity for Sustained Inclusive Growth.

KER 2024 has 10 areas of focus: trends in macroeconomic performance; Kenya’s medium term macroeconomic prospects; increasing labour productivity in manufacturing; enhancing productivity through trade; investing in skills for a productive and dynamic workforce; transforming agricultural for enhanced productivity; reimagining strategic partnerships in unlocking technology transfer; assessing productivity at county level; enhancing productivity in the public service and  leveraging on digitization to increase productivity in the informal economy.

The overarching goal for the report will be to present evidence-based public policy options that can foster sustainable and inclusive economic growth in Kenya by boosting productivity across various sectors. The workshop was officiated by the Director Economic Management, Dr Eldah Onsomu and drew stakeholders from the National and county governments, SAGAs, MDAs, and the private sector.
