KIPPRA CSR committee donated and planted 1000 mangrove tree seedlings at Mida Creek, Watamu, Kilifi County on 23rd January 2024. Mangrove trees act as buffers against rising water tides, protecting communities who live along the shores of the ocean. The exercise brought together KIPPRA, Kenya Forest Service, Dabaso Creek Conservation Group, and a number of stakeholders under the World Bank-funded KEMSFED programme.
The CSR Committee later visited Baraka Children’s Home in Mombasa and handed over gifts donated by KIPPRA staff and foodstuffs. The activities are part of the Institute’s corporate social responsibility.
