KIPPRA staff participated in the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon on 29th October 2023. The staff took part in 5km, 10km and 20km races. The marathon is the largest single-day athletic event held in Kenya since 2003, attracting thousands of participants each year.
Thirty KIPPRA staff participated in the marathon whose proceeds will go to Standard Chartered’s “Future makers Initiative.” The global initiative aims to tackle inequality by promoting greater economic inclusion in local markets. It supports disadvantaged young people, especially girls and people with visual impairments, to learn new skills and improve their chances of getting a job or starting their own business.
KIPPRA’s participation in the marathon is part of the Institute’s corporate social responsibility. Participants were also given tree seedlings to plant as part of measures to mitigate the negative effects of climate change and conserve the ecosystem.
