Stakeholder Roundtable on Assessing Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices in Food Hygiene and Safety

KIPPRA held a stakeholder roundtable on assessing knowledge, attitudes and practices in food hygiene and safety among hotel and restaurant workers in the era of cholera and Covid-19 Pandemics on 30th June 2023. The workshop was attended by stakeholders drawn from heath and hospitality sectors in Nairobi. The Institute received valuable input from stakeholders that will greatly improve the outcome of the study.

Participants follow keenly follow the proceedings of the workshop

The objective of the study includes:

  • Analyzing the knowledge of food handlers (processing, preparation and handling) in Nairobi County restaurants on food safety.
  • Determine the attitudes of food handlers in Nairobi restaurants towards food safety.
  • Assess the self-reported practices on food safety for food handlers in Nairobi restaurants.

The Institute received valuable input from stakeholders that will greatly improve the outcome of the study.
