The theme of the conference was “Accelerating Economic Growth and Development for ASALs in Kenya” and the Southern Voice think tanks participated in a panel session on the “role of think tanks in promoting growth of ASALS in Kenya”..

Given that Southern Voice is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the three think thanks took some time to celebrate and cut a cake. This is ahead of the upcoming Southern Voice conference scheduled for 24th and 25th October in Kenya where the anniversary will also be marked. Southern Voice has 66 think tanks from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean and the KIPPRA Executive Director Dr Rose Ngugi is the current chairperson of the network.
