Tree Planting Exercise at Busia County

KIPPRA participated in the National Tree Planting Exercise and launched the KIPPRA–Gates Project on Leveraging Evidence for Economic Opportunity and Care Policy Implementation on 22nd October 2025 at Lupida Primary School in Busia County. The event was graced by the Head of Public Service, Mr Felix Koskei, who presided over the tree planting exercise and officially inaugurated the project. Also in attendance were the Principal Secretary, State Department for Economic Planning, Dr Bonface Makokha, the Principal Secretary, MSME, Ms Susan Mang’eni, KIPPRA Board Chairperson Prof. Paul Wachana, and the Executive Director, Dr Eldah Onsomu, among other senior government officials and stakeholders.

During the event, Dr Onsomu addressed the press and highlighted KIPPRA’s contribution to the Government’s national tree planting programme, as well as the key objectives of the KIPPRA–Gates Project, which seeks to leverage evidence to inform economic opportunity and strengthen the implementation of care policies.
