Public Engagement on Budget and Privatisation in Western and North Rift Regions

KIPPRA participated in a two-day public engagement forum on budget and privatisation on 17th-18th January 2026 in Western and North Rift Regions. The Institute was represented by the Board Chairperson, Prof. Paul Wachana who accompanied the Treasury Cabinet Secretary Hon. John Mbadi and Economic Planning Principal Secretary Dr Bonface Makokha where they participated in the budget and privatisation public participation dialogue.

The engagements, which took discussed the 2026/2027 budget process and plans as well as proposals to privatise the Kenya Pipeline Company and divest part of the government’s stake in Safaricom Limited.
