KIPPRA hosted the Principal Secretary, State Department for Economic Planning, Dr. Bonface Makokha on 25th April 2025. The PS was received by KIPPRA Board Chairperson, Prof. Paul Wachana and Ag. Executive Director, Dr Eldah Onsomu.
The visit provided an opportunity for the Principal Secretary to engage with KIPPRA’s leadership and staff, familiarize himself with the Institute’s mandate, review ongoing research and capacity-building initiatives, and explore strategic areas for enhanced support to national development priorities.
The visit included a tour of KIPPRA’s offices, presentations on key research projects, and an interactive session with staff. Discussions focused on strengthening policy research uptake, improving coordination with the State Department for Economic Planning and KIPPRA’s staffing gaps. The meeting was also attended by Director Corporate Services, Ms Irene Mithia, Ag. Director Integrated Development, Dr John Karanja and management staff.
