KIPPRA joined the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning, Hon. FCPA John Mbadi and the Principal Secretary, State Department for Economic Planning, in launching the Capacity Building Programme for County Governments on Economic Planning and Strengthening National–County Integration Mechanisms on 7th October 2025 in Busia County. The event was graced by the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Hon. Dr Musalia Mudavadi, who underscored the importance of coordinated planning between the national and county governments as a cornerstone for inclusive and sustainable development.

KIPPRA was represented by the Board Chairperson, Prof. Paul Wachana, and the Executive Director, Dr Eldah Onsomu, who led the Institute’s delegation at the event. The newly launched programme seeks to promote a more integrated and efficient approach to development planning across the two levels of government by integrating an efficiency standard negotiation framework into national and county planning models, building the capacity of planners to strengthen project monitoring, reporting, and implementation through evidence-based planning, and fostering strategic collaboration with the private sector to drive sustainable economic growth.
