KIPPRA held a workshop for youth in climate change action on 25th October 2022 to Friday 4th November 2022 to develop a communique for presentation at the 7th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP27) in Egypt on 6th to 18th November 2022, and four policy briefs on various climate change themes. The workshop included capacity building sessions on writing policy briefs, communiques, conference proceedings and presentation skills. KIPPRA also engaged youth officers from the National Youth Council to collaboratively draft the policy briefs and enhance participation of youth in the policy making processes.
The policy briefs, which were published by KIPPRA, discussed four key areas: supporting youth involvement in climate smart agriculture, financing youth activities in climate action, and capacity building for youth in climate change and sustainable plastic waste management for youth. KIPPRA subsequently participated at the COP27 conference.
