The 19th edition of the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon was held on 30th October 2022 at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi. Forty KIPPRA staff participated in the marathon whose proceeds will go to Standard Chartered’s “Future makers Initiative.” The global initiative aims to tackle inequality by promoting greater economic inclusion in our markets. It supports disadvantaged young people, especially girls and people with visual impairments, to learn new skills and improve their chances of getting a job or starting their own business.

The staff took part in 5km, 10km and 21km races and were awarded with medals. This year the marathon attracted 20,000 participants and is the largest single- day sporting event in Kenya. KIPPRA’s participation in the marathon is part of the institute’s corporate social responsibility. Participants were also given tree seedlings to plant as part of the measures to mitigate the negative effects of climate change and conserve our ecosystem.
