KIPPRA Signs MOU with Bomet County Assembly

KIPPRA and Bomet County Assembly signed an MOU on areas of mutual collaboration on 25th February 2026 in Bomet County marking a significant step toward strengthening evidence-based governance at the county level. KIPPRA Executive Director Dr Eldah Onsomu and Speaker of Bomet County Assembly, Hon. Cosmas Korir, attended the signing ceremony. The partnership seeks to leverage the strengths of both institutions in evidence-based policy implementation and the capacity building of the assembly officials. Speaking during the signing, Executive Director Dr. Eldah Onsomu encouraged the County Government and County Assembly to tap into KIPPRA’s capacity-building programmes and make full use of the Institute’s Public Policy Repository. She reaffirmed KIPPRA’s commitment to strengthening the capacities of County Governments and Assemblies in line with the vision of devolution as enshrined in the Constitution.

Hon. Cosmas Korir, Speaker of Bomet County Assembly, underscored the importance of evidence-based lawmaking, enhanced oversight for prudent use of public resources, and improving the quality of debates in the Assembly to advance good governance and sustainable development. The MoU outlines collaboration in joint research, dissemination and knowledge sharing, joint policy seminars, capacity building, and talent development and career pathways.
