KIPPRA participated in the Global Data Festival 2026, held from June 2–3 under the theme “Powering Resilience, Innovation, and Partnership through Data and Technology.” The Institute showcased its research products and the KIPPRA Public Policy Repository, demonstrating how data and evidence can support sustainable development and informed policymaking.
KIPPRA Executive Director Dr Eldah Onsomu took part in a panel discussion on “Human-Centered Data: Moving Beyond Numbers to Real Impact,” where she highlighted the importance of leveraging data to address real-world challenges and shape responsive public policies.
Acting Director for Economic Management Dr Eliud Moyi also joined a panel discussion on “Uptake of Data in Policy Making: Bridging the Gap between Research and Decision Making.” He emphasized the distinction between academic and public policy research, noting that policy research is designed to generate actionable evidence that informs government decision-making. He further highlighted KIPPRA’s contribution to evidence-informed policymaking through its policy research and the KIPPRA Public Policy Repository, which provides access to national and county government policy documents alongside the Institute’s research outputs.
