KIPPRA management and researchers participated in a demonstration of the Rural Investment and Policy Analysis Artificial Intelligence (RIAPA-AI) model on May 26, 2026, facilitated by Dr James Thurlow of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI).

RIAPA-AI is an AI-supported version of the RIAPA Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model that enables users to run policy simulations without requiring specialised software or advanced technical expertise. The tool is designed to enhance the analysis of economy-wide impacts of policy interventions.
The session showcased the potential of AI-driven modelling tools in strengthening evidence-based policymaking, improving policy analysis and supporting research that informs sustainable development outcomes. It also reinforced the ongoing collaboration between KIPPRA and IFPRI in advancing analytical capacity and policy research.
