KIPPRA presented its report on employment diversity and procurement opportunities to the Senate Standing Committee on National Cohesion, Equal Opportunity and Regional Integration on May 1, 2026, reaffirming the Institute’s commitment to constitutional principles on diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity.
Led by Board Chairperson Prof. Paul Wachana and Executive Director Dr Eldah Onsomu, the KIPPRA Board and Management highlighted the Institute’s compliance with Article 232 of the Constitution. The report showed that KIPPRA’s workforce of 82 staff represents 19 ethnic communities, with no single community accounting for more than one-third of the total workforce. It also demonstrated progress towards gender parity, with women comprising 39 per cent of staff, and noted that Persons with Disabilities account for 9.6 per cent of employees, exceeding the statutory requirement of five per cent.
The Institute also reported consistent compliance with Section 53(6) of the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act, 2015, by reserving and awarding at least 30 per cent of procurement opportunities to enterprises owned by women, youth and persons with disabilities under the Access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPO) programme.
