KIPPRA Partners with KFS and Cheptais CFA for Tree Planting Initiative

On November 8, 2024, the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA), through its CSR and Environment Committee, partnered with the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) Mt. Elgon branch and the Cheptais Community Forest Association (CFA) to plant 1,500 trees at Cheptais Forest, Mt. Elgon. This initiative aligns with the presidential directive to increase forest cover to 15 billion trees by 2032.

Members of the CFA and the local community pledged to nurture the trees to ensure their successful growth. KIPPRA plans to return next year to plant an additional 5,000 seedlings, reaffirming its commitment to environmental sustainability and fostering community collaboration.
