KIPPRA Participates in the Launch of the 2026 Manufacturing Priority Agenda

KIPPRA participated in the launch of the 2026 Manufacturing Priority Agenda (MPA), an annual publication by the Kenya Association of Manufacturers guiding advocacy for a competitive manufacturing sector on 17th February 2026. KIPPRA was represented by the Executive Director Dr. Eldah Onsomu and was presided over by the Principal Secretary, State Department for MSME Development, Ms Susan Mang’eni.

Dr Onsomu participated in a panel discussion on “Turbocharging the Economy Through the Manufacturing Sector to Spur Inclusive Economic Transformation.” She emphasized strengthening property rights, value addition, competitiveness, and the Buy Kenya, Build Kenya agenda in line with Vision 2030.

Highlighting that SMEs operate across all 47 counties, she called for targeted investments based on counties’ comparative advantages, from construction and leather to mining, alongside enhanced skills development and access to high-technology manufacturing. Dr Onsomu underscored the need to support youth-driven manufacturing, boost food processing to reduce wastage, invest in sectors like tea, and strategically develop Special Economic Zones to drive inclusive growth.
