KIPPRA Participates in COP30

KIPPRA participated in the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) held in Belém, Brazil, with Executive Director Dr Eldah Onsomu representing the Institute. On 20th November 2025, Dr Onsomu delivered a keynote address at a high-level side event titled “Bridging the Climate Finance Gap.” The event convened global climate leaders, policymakers, development finance institutions, researchers, and representatives from the Global South to discuss persistent financing gaps that hinder climate mitigation, adaptation, and resilience efforts.

In her keynote, Dr Onsomu highlighted Kenya’s experience in climate policy reforms, green financing, and evidence-based decision-making, emphasizing the need to expand access to climate finance for vulnerable communities, women, youth, and marginalized groups to ensure inclusive and sustainable climate action.
