KIPPRA held the KIPPRA Mentorship Programme for Universities and TVETs (KMPUTs) at the University of Nairobi on June 18, 2026, bringing together students, policymakers, academia and development practitioners to discuss the role of youth talent in advancing Kenya’s socio-economic development.
The programme, themed “Enhancing Socioeconomic Development in Kenya Through Promotion of Youth Talents,” was graced by KIPPRA Board Chairperson Prof. Paul Wachana, Executive Director Dr Eldah Onsomu, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Prof. Jack Odhiambo and Chair of the Department of Economics and Development Studies Prof. Martine Oleche, alongside other leaders from KIPPRA and the University.
Participants engaged in discussions on the public policymaking process, national planning, youth talent development under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), clean energy and e-mobility innovations, national values and healthy living. The sessions highlighted the importance of equipping young people with the knowledge, skills and opportunities needed to contribute to Kenya’s sustainable development.
