KIPPRA met Mombasa County Governor H.E. Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir on May 7, 2026, to discuss collaboration for the upcoming 9th KIPPRA Annual Regional Conference, scheduled for May 20–22, 2026, in Mombasa County.
Led by Board Chairperson Prof. Paul Wachana and Executive Director Dr Eldah Onsomu, the KIPPRA delegation briefed the Governor on the conference, themed “Strengthening Value Chains for Inclusive Growth in Kenya.” Discussions focused on the County Government’s support in key areas, including technical participation in panel discussions on the blue economy, transport and logistics value chains, hosting high-profile guests, and co-hosting selected conference activities.
The meeting also highlighted KIPPRA’s longstanding collaboration with Mombasa County in policy research and stakeholder engagement. Governor Nassir welcomed the initiative and expressed appreciation for KIPPRA’s decision to host the conference in Mombasa, noting that the discussions would contribute to strengthening value chains and promoting inclusive economic growth in the county and across the country.
