KIPPRA Hosts Validation Workshop on Leveraging Evidence for Care and Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Project

KIPPRA held a stakeholder validation workshop to review critical frameworks guiding the implementation of the Leveraging Evidence for Care and Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Project on 27th Jan 2026.

The workshop focused on validating three core instruments: the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Framework, the Communication and Reporting Strategy, and the Learning Strategy. These tools are designed to ensure that the project is grounded in credible evidence, supported by effective learning systems, and driven by clear communication approaches that enhance policy uptake.

In his opening remarks, Ag. Director for Economic Management, Dr. Eliud Moyi, underscored the importance of strong monitoring and learning systems in driving accountability and achieving tangible outcomes under the National Policy on Women’s Economic Empowerment and the National Care Policy. Technical presentations highlighted how the frameworks will support performance tracking, evidence uptake, and continuous learning. Stakeholders provided feedback to strengthen coordination, clarify roles, and enhance implementation.

The workshop concluded with a renewed commitment from stakeholders to work collectively in advancing the WEE Project. Participants emphasized that continued partnership and knowledge sharing will be critical in ensuring the project delivers measurable and lasting impact for women’s economic empowerment in Kenya.

The engagement brought together representatives from government institutions, development partners, civil society, and other key stakeholders involved in advancing women’s economic empowerment at national and county levels. The validation exercise marked a critical milestone in ensuring that the WEE Project is anchored on robust evidence, effective learning mechanisms, and clear communication pathways to support policy uptake and implementation.
