KIPPRA Hosts a Delegation from the Global Public Investment Network

KIPPRA hosted a delegation from the Global Public Investment Network to explore opportunities for collaboration in advancing the Global Public Investment (GPI) agenda in Kenya and across Africa on 10th March 2026.

The delegation led by the Chair of the GPI Network and Executive Director at Development Transformation, Mr. Steven Chacha was received by the KIPPRA Executive Director Dr Eldah Onsomu.

The discussions at the meeting focused on how GPI can contribute to a more equitable global development financing system by moving beyond the traditional donor–recipient model towards a framework where countries contribute according to their capacity and benefit according to their needs. The meeting also explored how policy research and dialogue can support the promotion of global public goods and strengthen development financing mechanisms.

Further key areas identified for collaboration included leveraging the KIPPRA Annual Regional Conference (KARC) as a platform to advance discussions on Global Public Investment, reviewing existing policy briefs to identify areas for joint research, and engaging the Kenyan government on the potential for Kenya to join the Global Public Investment Coalition.
