KIPPRA hosted a hybrid meeting with the Kenya Fiscal Incidence Analysis (KFIA) team alongside representatives from the World Bank Group, UNICEF, KNBS, and the University of Nairobi on 5th March 2025. The discussions covered CEQ4C, a review of the draft KFIA report and publication, preparations for the upcoming workshop, and other key agenda items.

The World Bank Group and UNICEF, key technical and financial supporters of the KFIA project, reiterated their commitment to supporting evidence-based policymaking in Kenya. Representatives from these organizations highlighted the importance of using fiscal incidence tools to evaluate the impact of government interventions. The Kenya Fiscal Incidence Analysis (KFIA) tool is utilized to assess the distributional impacts of fiscal interventions by the government. These include interventions by which the government collects revenue from citizens and reallocates it back to citizens in the form of direct transfers, subsidies, and in-kind benefits. Priority areas for application include agriculture, health, social protection and education.
