KIPPRA held a roundtable breakfast meeting on 24th February 2021 with stakeholders from public and private institutions to discuss the implications of Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) on Kenya. The roundtable brought together representatives from ICT Authority, Kenya Association of Manufacturers ( KAM), National Council for Persons with Disability(NCPWDs) and The Association of Professional Societies in Kenya (APSEA). The event was also graced by KIPPRA Executive Director Dr Rose Ngugi and ICT Authority CEO Dr Katherine Getao.
The objective of the roundtable was to gather stakeholder views on assessment of revenue, trade and welfare implications of AfCFTA on Kenya, establishment of the effect of digitization on trade under AfCFTA for Kenya and analysis of AfCFTA as an initiative for industrialization and economic development.
The round table was concluded after a successful engagement with stakeholders.
