KIPPRA Executive Director, Dr Eldah Onsomu, participated in the 58th Session of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), taking place in Morocco from March 28 to April 4, 2026. The forum brought together policymakers, researchers, development partners and private sector leaders to discuss strategies for accelerating Africa’s economic transformation.

During the session, Dr Onsomu joined a panel discussion on fintech, digital finance, cryptocurrency regulation and financial inclusion, focusing on their role in promoting youth entrepreneurship and job creation across the continent.
Speaking during the discussion, Dr Onsomu noted that while fintech continues to create new opportunities for economic growth, supportive policy and regulatory frameworks are essential to foster innovation, protect consumers and expand financial inclusion.
