KIPPRA convened a consultative meeting with youth involved in climate action on August 19, 2024. Hosted by the Partnerships Department, the gathering marked the commencement of planning for the 4th Youth in Climate Action Symposium, scheduled for later this year.
The symposium aims to provide young people with a robust platform to engage in meaningful dialogue with both peers and policymakers about climate change challenges and solutions. By fostering these discussions, KIPPRA ensures that the voices of youth are integral to shaping climate policy.
This meeting also serves as a preparatory step for the Conference of Parties (COP) events, with COP29 set to take place in Azerbaijan later this year. The symposium will help align youth perspectives and contributions with global climate agendas, enhancing their role in international climate negotiations.
The initiative points to KIPPRA’s commitment to involving young climate leaders in the policy-making process and preparing them for significant global discussions.
