KIPPRA delegation visited IFPRI on 25th February 2025 to discuss possible areas of collaboration and partnership. The delegation led by KIPPRA’s Ag. Executive Director Dr Eldah Onsomu was received by IFPRI’s Country and Regional Program Leader, Dr Clemens Breisinger. The discussions at the meeting focused on reflecting on key milestones achieved through the collaboration between KIPPRA and IFPRI under the CGIAR Initiative on National Policies and Strategies (NPS) through capacity building, research and economic modelling, including Social Accounting Matrix and CGE modelling.
The discussions further explored future areas of partnerships and collaboration between the two institutions including tax simulations, participation in the 8th KARC and the beyond 2030 agenda among other areas. Also in attendance were KIPPRA’s Policy Analysts Mr Adan Shibia and Mr Shadrack Mwatu and Deputy Director Ms Monica Sifuna along with IFPRI’s Ms Juneweenex Mbuthia and Ms Lensa Omune.
