KIPPRA Day 2024

On 6th December 2024, The Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) hosted KIPPRA Day 2024, at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD). Themed “Leveraging on Public Policy to Accelerate Achievement of BETA”, the event highlighted KIPPRA’s contributions to public policy research and dissemination in Kenya.

The event was officiated by the Principal Secretary, State Department for Economic Planning, Mr. James Muhati, CBS, who commended KIPPRA for its dedication to enhancing public policy through evidence-based research. In his keynote address, Mr. Muhati lauded the launch of the revised KIPPRA Treasury Macroeconomic Model (KTMM), which enables robust policy simulation and medium-term forecasting of macroeconomic variables such as GDP growth, inflation, and private investments.

Other notable attendees included KIPPRA Board Chairperson, Prof. Paul Wachana, Economic Planning Secretary, Mr. Timothy Gakuu, KIPPRA Board of Directors, and the Acting Executive Director, Dr. Eldah Onsomu. During the celebrations, the Institute also launched the KIPPRA Young Professionals’ Alumni, further demonstrating its commitment to building capacity among young policy professionals.

The event featured remarks from key leaders, including Prof. Wachana and Dr. Onsomu, who emphasized KIPPRA’s role in supporting Kenya’s development agenda. The day concluded with closing remarks from the KIPPRA Board Vice Chairperson, Ms. Christine Wanjala, and a ceremonial cake cutting led by Mr. Muhati, Prof. Wachana, and Dr. Onsomu.

KIPPRA Day 2024 showcased the Institute’s dedication to fostering informed policymaking and collaboration to advance Kenya’s socio-economic transformation.
