KIPPRA Conducts Tree Planting Exercise in Five Counties

KIPPRA, in collaboration with the State Department for Economic Planning, planted trees and held a trainees’ award ceremony at the Busia County headquarters on 16th May 2025. The event was attended by the Ag. Economic Planning Secretary, Mr Timothy Gakuu, who represented the Economic Planning PS, the KIPPRA Board Chair Prof. Paul Wachana, Ag. ED Dr Eldah Onsomu and the Couty Secretary Mr Oscar Juma, who represented the Governor Dr Paul Otuoma. The event saw the awarding of 60 county officers who successfully completed the KIPPRA Public Policy Making Process and Monitoring and Evaluation courses. On the other hand, the tree-planting exercise saw planting of 5,000 trees in Nasewa, with support from the local community, Kenya Forest Services, the County Commissioner’s office as well as the County Government. The Principal Secretary, State Department for Economic Planning, Dr Bonface Makokha spearheaded the tree planting exercise at Cheptais Forest in Bungoma County on 17th May 2025, the event saw planting of two thousand seedlings and awarding of certificates to 60 officers from Bungoma County who completed the Public Policy Making Process and Monitoring and Evaluation courses.

The Institute further planted trees in Nyandarua, Kericho and Baringo counties.
