KIPPRA conducted Computable general equilibrium (CGE) training for its staff from 21st July to 1st August 2025. The training brought together staff from various departments, equipping them with advanced skills in applying CGE models to inform public policy. The goal of the training is to build institutional capacity for conducting robust, evidence-based economic analysis that supports Kenya’s development planning and policy formulation.

CGE modelling is a sophisticated analytical framework used to simulate how an economy responds to policy changes, external shocks, or structural reforms. It captures the interlinkages between sectors, households, government, and the global economy, making it an essential tool for evaluating policy impacts on growth, employment, trade, and income distribution.
