KIPPRA commemorated World AIDS Day on 1st December 2021. The hybrid event was attended by KIPPRA staff and representatives from Britam Insurance Company. The event gave participants an opportunity to be screened for non-communicable diseases such as Diabetes and High Blood Pressure. Interested staff were also voluntarily tested for HIV.
World AIDS Day is commemorated annually to highlight the urgent need to end inequalities that drive AIDS and other pandemics around the world. The theme for 2021’s commemoration was ‘end inequalities, end AIDS and end pandemics’. The event was also used as a platform to sensitize staff on HIV focusing on HIV awareness, prevention, living with HIV and destigmatization
