KIPPRA Staff Present Papers on Human Capital in Africa Research

KIPPRA researchers participated in an Africa Economic Research Consortium (AERC) workshop on 15th and 16th November 2022 where they presented papers on a research themed “Building Policy Research Institutions to Support Human Capital in Africa”. The research is a collaboration with AERC and and two other Kenyan think tanks.

The study aims to build capacity that involves systematic mentoring of young researchers by international resource persons who are experts in their fields of research. This project presents an opportunity from a research perspective to establish priority areas for the government, aimed at ensuring that fundamental rights including right to highest attainable standard of health, quality education, and freedom from hunger and access to safe clean water are attained.

The KIPPRA team was represented by policy analysts Ms Melap Sitati, Ms Violet Nyabaro, Mr Michael Ogolla and Ms Rosemary Murebu. In addition to making the presentation, the team members were also discussants on papers by researchers from other countries. Following presentations, the team received input for their papers. The final workshop will be held in March 2023 by which time the research papers will be expected to be completed.
