KIPPRA Calls on Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury and Economic Planning

KIPPRA called on the Cabinet Secretary, the National Treasury and Economic Planning on 4th February 2026 to discuss partnership opportunities between MCDF and the Government of Kenya. The KIPPRA delegation was led by Board Chairperson Paul Wachana and Executive Director Eldah Onsomu. They joined Principal Secretary for the State Department for Economic Planning, Bonface Makokha, and MCDF CEO Zhongjing Wang in discussions aimed at strengthening collaboration.

The deliberations at the meeting centred on enhancing cooperation between MCDF and the Government, with a key focus on mobilizing collaborative financing for the establishment of the Kenya Public Policy Centre. The meeting also explored broader areas of partnership in public policy and research to support evidence-based decision-making.

Other senior officials present included Director General at the State Department for Economic Planning, Dr Masini Ichwara, and Director General for Public Investments and Portfolio Management, Mr Lawrence Kibet. The KIPPRA delegation also comprised Board Finance Committee Chairperson Prof. Muchiri Ngatia and Supply Chain Deputy Director Mr Reuben Mauki. The engagement marked an important step toward deepening strategic partnerships and advancing resource mobilization to support Kenya’s public policy and development agenda.
