KIPPRA and IWMI Host Workshop on Climate Smart Governance Tools

On 26th November 2024, KIPPRA, in collaboration with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), hosted a two-day workshop on introducing Multiscale Polycentric Governance (MPG) and Climate Smart Governance (CSG) tools in Kenya. These innovative tools are designed to enhance national climate adaptation planning, thereby bolstering Kenya’s resilience to the impacts of climate change.

The workshop aimed to familiarize participants with the MPG tool guide and strengthen the capacity of local stakeholders in climate adaptation planning. It also served as the platform for the launch of the Climate Smart Governance (CSG) dashboard, a cutting-edge online tool providing critical data and analytics on climate vulnerabilities, governance capacities, and ongoing climate interventions.

Sessions included presentations, interactive discussions, and practical demonstrations, emphasizing the importance of integrating data-driven tools into Kenya’s climate resilience efforts.

This workshop marked a significant step toward fostering collaborative efforts and equipping stakeholders with the tools needed to address the challenges posed by climate change effectively, paving the way for a more resilient and sustainable Kenya.
