KIPPRA Ag. Executive Director Pays a Courtesy Call to the Principal Secretary for Roads

The KIPPRA team led by Ag. Executive Director, Dr Eldah Onsomu paid a courtesy call to the Principal Secretary for Roads, Eng. Joseph Mbugua, on February 13, 2025, to discuss a potential partnership in hosting KIPPRA’s 8th Annual Regional Conference. ​

The meeting focused on partnerships to deliver the conference. Both parties emphasized the importance of evidence-based policy and stakeholder engagement in achieving the objectives outlined in the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).​

Eng. Mbugua welcomed the collaboration, highlighting the State Department’s commitment to supporting platforms that foster dialogue on infrastructure development. He noted that such partnerships are crucial for sharing insights and best practices that can inform policy.​

KIPPRA’s Ag. Executive Director, Dr. Eldah Onsomu, expressed appreciation for the State Department’s support and underscored the institute’s role in facilitating policy discussions that drive national development. She reiterated KIPPRA’s dedication to working with government entities to ensure that research findings translate into actionable policies.​

The 8th Annual Regional Conference is expected to bring together policymakers, researchers, and industry stakeholders to deliberate on key issues affecting infrastructure development in Kenya and the region. The meeting was also attended by KIPPRA’s Director Corporate Services, Ms Irene Mithia and Ag. Director Integrated Development, Dr John Karanja among other KIPPRA staff.
