KIPPRA strengthened its commitment to environmental sustainability and climate action through a series of tree planting activities held from June 12–13, 2026, in Nakuru and Bungoma counties. During the exercise, the Institute donated and planted a total of 30,000 tree seedlings in partnership with government agencies and community stakeholders.
In Naivasha, KIPPRA donated and planted 15,000 seedlings, mainly indigenous tree species alongside selected fruit trees, at Manera Primary School, Mirera Secondary School, Mwiciringiri Primary School and Naivasha Medium Prison. The exercise was undertaken in collaboration with the Kenya Forest Service (KFS), Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) and Team Climate Change Naivasha to support ecosystem restoration and strengthen climate resilience.
The restoration drive continued in Bungoma County, where KIPPRA donated and planted 15,000 Dombeya tree seedlings at Cheptais Forest in partnership with the Community Forest Association (CFA) and the Kenya Forest Service. The team also visited a tree nursery managed by the CFA under the supervision of KFS, where KIPPRA’s support has enhanced seedling production capacity to sustain ongoing forest restoration efforts led by the community and local youth groups.
