KIPPRA hosted a delegation from Bajeti Hub on 9th December 2025. The delegation led by Executive Director of Bajeti Hub, Dr Abraham Rugo was received by the KIPPRA Executive Director Dr Eldah Onsomu. The strategic engagement aimed at exploring potential collaboration in strengthening Kenya’s public financial management and evidence-based policymaking. The discussions focused on budgeting, fiscal incidence analysis, futures foresight, and tracking public participation indicators—areas aligned with Kenya’s ongoing efforts to enhance transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement in governance. During the meeting, Dr Onsomu emphasized KIPPRA’s commitment to building partnerships that enrich policy research and support government and non-state actors in making informed decisions. She noted that collaborations with institutions like Bajeti Hub are vital for improving analytical rigor and expanding the evidence base for national and county budgeting processes. Dr Rugo highlighted Bajeti Hub’s focus on simplifying public finance data for citizens and promoting accessible, participatory budgeting. He underscored the value of working with KIPPRA to deepen fiscal incidence analysis, critical for understanding how public spending and taxation affect different population groups.

Both institutions expressed strong interest in jointly advancing futures foresight work, enabling policymakers to anticipate emerging trends and design resilient long-term strategies. They also agreed on strengthening systems for tracking public participation indicators at the county level to ensure inclusive governance. The meeting concluded with a commitment to develop a roadmap for collaboration, including the signing of an MOU between the two institutions. The session was also attended by Dr Nancy Nafula, Head of KIPPRA’s Governance Department.
