Dissemination Workshop on Macroeconomic Performance and Medium-Term Prospects

KIPPRA held a sectoral dissemination workshop on the Kenya Economic Report 2022 on May 18, 2023. Discussions focused on recent trends and developments in macroeconomic performance as well as the medium-term prospects. 

Some of the areas discussed during the plenary session include debt sustainability, enhancing tax compliance, drivers of inflation, impacts of the Finance Bill 2023, the Bottom-Up Transformation Agenda, implications of regional instability on the economy, subsidization of agricultural inputs, exchange rates, climate change investments and public spending.

Participants were drawn from the IGFRD/ The National Treasury, Kenya Revenue Authority, Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, Central Bank of Kenya Parliamentary Budget Office, Salaries and Remuneration Commission, African Development Bank, State Department for Energy, Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat, Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency, State Department for Trade, State Department of Culture and Directorate of Research& Planning.
