KIPPRA, in collaboration with World Resources Institute (WRI), hosted a stakeholder dissemination workshop of a cross economy analysis report on the models used in assessing green transitions in agriculture and energy sectors in Kenya. The event, which was held on 30th November 2022, brought together representatives from WRI, New Climate Economy, Counties and stakeholders from agriculture and energy sectors.
The cross-economy project is expected to lay a foundation for future economic modelling and analysis opportunities by WRI with the aim of identifying, quantifying & selecting sound economic evidence that will inform policy formulation.
KIPPRA partnered with WRI and the Danish MFA conducted an initial cross-economy scoping exercise to identify opportunities for enhanced climate action through mitigation and adaptation action at the energy-agriculture nexus. KIPPRA Senior Policy Analyst Mr Joshua Laichena presented the findings from the study, which elicited many comments, which will be used to enhance the report and guide future studies in the area.
