Children First: Smarter Budgets, Fairer Futures

Kenya County Budget Briefs call for smarter choices today to build stronger human capital for tomorrow. It presents an in-depth review of public spending in five key sectors—Nutrition, Health, WASH, Pre-Primary Education, and Social Protection, with a particular emphasis on budget management for Early Childhood Development (ECD).

This report, developed in collaboration with UNICEF, provides an evidence-based analysis of climate finance and its implications for children. It underscores the urgent need to rebalance investments toward climate-smart social services, ensuring that adaptation measures reach those most vulnerable.
