KIPPRA Conducts a Public Policy Training in Bungoma County
KIPPRA trained monitoring and evaluation officers in Bungoma County on public policy formulation, monitoring and evaluation from 26th-30th November 2018. The five-day training programme was delivered in nine modules: Introduction to public policy process, role of stakeholders in public policy, problem identification, agenda setting in public policy, policy design, policy implementation, public policy monitoring and evaluation, public policy making in Kenya and evidence-based policy making.
After every module, trainees were subjected to a series of group assignments and case studies to further enhance their understanding of key aspects of the policy formulation process. Trainees were also allowed to ask questions related to the training content during daily plenary sessions.
Feedback surveys were also administered daily, after every module. This presented the trainees with an opportunity to seek clarification on course content and gave trainers the opportunity to improve on areas of weakness.
The training culminated in the issuing of certificates to the participants.
The KIPPRA team was led by Senior Policy Analyst Eliud Moyi. Others present were Beverly Musili, Samantha Luseno, Jane Kenda and Teresa Bosibori.
