On July 20, 2017, KIPPRA held a workshop on “Creating and Sustaining Jobs in Kenya”. The half day event which took place in Fairview Hotel in Nairobi was part of a series of policy engagements with stakeholders to discuss economic issues affecting the country. Institutions represented during the forum included: Ministry of Devolution and Planning, Ministry of East Africa Community, Labour and Social Protection, Ministry of Education, the International Labour Organization (ILO), Kenya Association of manufacturers (KAM), Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA), Federation of Kenya Employees (FKE), Kenya Institute for Curriculum Development (KICD), Kenya Bankers Association (KBA), Kenya Institute for Special Education (KISE), Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) and Middle and Small Enterprises Association (MSEA). Under the overall theme “Creating and Sustaining Jobs in Kenya” the workshop identified policies and strategies to be put in place to enhance job creation and curb job losses in the Country.
