The institute held a technical workshop on “Inequalities, Social Cohesion, Youth Unemployment, Underemployment and Quality of Jobs” on 30th July, 2012. The purpose of the technical workshop was to facilitate interactive discussions on “Youth Unemployment” and “Inequality and Social Cohesion” in Kenya. These discussions will enrich two research reports: (i) Youth unemployment, underemployment and decent work in Kenya and (ii) Inequalities and Social Cohesion in Kenya: Evidence, Synthesis and Policy Proposals. The workshop which was attended by participants drawn from relevant government ministries and departments, research institutions and donor community, was organized in collaboration with the Office of the Prime Minister and Japan International Cooperation Agency. The technical workshop will be followed up by a wider stakeholder workshop at the end of August 2012.
