Representatives from various government ministries toured Statistics Norway to explore possible Norwegian support to develop statistics and macroeconomic models related to the petroleum sector in Kenya as well as learn how a petroleum related statistics system is built up and organised.

 

The study visit, which was under the revenue management pillar of the Oil for Development programme, was a follow up of a Statistics Norway mission to Kenya in May 2016.

The ten participants were drawn from the following institutions: Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS), National Treasury, Ministry of Devolution and Planning (MoDP), Kenya Institute of Public Policy and Research Analysis (KIPPRA), Ministry of Energy and Petroleum (MOEP) and the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MoE).
