The Board of Directors of KIPPRA announces that Dr. Moses Ikiara completed his second term as Executive Directorof the Institute at the end of May 2012.
Dr. Ikiara has served for two 3 year terms since June 2006, in addition to the 6 months he served on acting basis. During his tenure, KIPPRA has been strengthened to become one of the leading think tanks in the country and beyond. Indeed, independent global surveys have found the Institute to be among the global ‘GO TO’ think tanks. The Institute has also increased its outputs, including the Kenya Economic Report (KER), and has participated in the development of key public policies in the country. In addition, not only has KIPPRA earned ISO 9001:2008 certification during Dr. Ikiara’s tenure, it has also put in place sufficient initiatives and structures to enable it achieve its vision of becoming an international centre of excellence.
The Board would like to thank Dr. Ikiara for his leadership over the past six and a half years in the discharge of the KIPPRA’s mandate of providing quality public policy advice to the Government of Kenya and other stakeholders.
The Board has embarked on a competitive process of identifying the next Executive Director for KIPPRA.
In the meantime, Dr Eric Aligula has been appointed the Acting Executive Director of KIPPRA with effect from 1st June 2012. Before this appointment, Dr Aligula has been the Programmes Coordinator at KIPPRA since 2009, and also acting Head of Infrastructure and Economic Services Division.
